EVENT: Birmingham Pride 2009 - 'Pinks Meets Green'
LOCATION: Central Birmingham & Gay Village, Birmingham
DATE: Saturday 23th & Sunday 24th May 2009

INFO: Birmingham's annual Gay Pride event for the LGBT and wider community returns to the city.
Featuring community events, a carnival parade, Pride's Got Talent, comedy and cabaret marquee, celebrity music acts, funfair rides, markets stalls, dance arenas, Village Green and over 15 gay bars and clubs.
Organised by Birmingham Pride (UK) Ltd. Supported by Birmingham City Council, Environment Agency, Train to Gain, Unite the Union, Toni & Guy, Beck's, Stella Artios, Smirnoff, Nightingale Club, The Village Inn, GB Resourcing and Midlands Zone.

I think Birmingham Pride needs to be vastly improved. It's good for a few hours and great if you just want to get wrecked and in a sea of topless yoiung guys soaking in the sun but there isn't really a community aspect to it. The village needs to be more inclusive. It's just a cliche at present. Let's hope 2010 pride is better representation of the people who actually make up LGBT brum.
